The team at Drogheda based company Paycheck Plus are getting used to winning awards, the shelves and walls at their offices in the FBD complex on the Donore Road are heaving with them.

But this week news filtered through that has the potential to put Paycheck Plus in a whole new league. They have been shortlisted for not one but three awards in the Global Payroll Awards.

Company founder Anne Reilly, along with senior payroll specialist Michelle Melia and financial controller Suzanne Quinn will be flying out to Amsterdam to attend, and hopefully to collect a gong or two, at the prestigious awards ceremony in Amsterdam on June 8th.

The three categories that they’ve been shortlisted for are In-Country Payroll Provider of The Year, In-Country Payroll Team of The Year and Michelle Melia has also been nominated in the Payroll Specialist of The Year category.

When I spoke with Anne Reilly on Friday she was beaming like the cat that got the cream, she was almost purring with pride in her 15-strong team. “Only for them Paycheck Plus wouldn’t be the success it is” she said.

“Being shortlisted for the best payroll team in the world says it all really. They’re committed, detailed and very precise and on top of that they’re so friendly. The trust that clients have in them is total, they know that every little detail of what can be complex arrangements will be looked after to the last detail. That is priceless.”

Anne started Paycheck Plus eleven years ago in Clogherhead. A number of years later she had outgrown that office so she moved to Dunleer; business continued to improve and, almost exactly a year ago, she and her by now much extended team, moved in to plush new offices in the FBD complex on the Donore Road.

In the last decade and a bit Paycheck Plus has grown from being a small local company to become a global player that lists major companies from 18 countries, from New Zealand to New York, among their clients.

The business is founded on the simple premise that people who work have to be paid and there’s nothing worse, for employee or employer, if the ATM refuses to oblige on payday.

As the name implies Paycheck Plus specialises in providing a range of payroll services to companies of all sizes. The team of IPASS and CIPP qualified payroll specialists work with companies to ensure their payroll is operating efficiently, cost effectively and is compliant with national and international standards and laws.

Paycheck Plus can turn what used to be a headache for client companies into something they no longer have to worry about. This leaves them free to get on with their core business and relax in the knowledge that their all-important pay roll is being looked after by a team of highly qualified and dedicated specialists who can save them, and their employees, money.

It’s not all work at Paycheck Plus though. Because not everyone can go to the awards night in Amsterdam which is on June 8th, the Thatch Restaurant is already booked for a party on the 9th. They can expect a busy night because whether or not they come home with trophies, they’ve much to celebrate.
