Friday 30th September will see the Paycheck Plus team host a Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning Social in aid of St. Francis Hospice Dublin. The funds we raise will help patients to live life as fully as possible with dignity, respect and comfort whilst making the most of precious time with their family and friends.
While most of the Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning Social events took place on the 22nd of September the Paycheck Plus team decided to hold the fundraiser at a later date to avoid running the event during a peak working day.
Now in its 30th year, the Bewley’s coffee morning is one of Ireland’s biggest, and most loved fundraisers. It has raised more than €41million to support local hospice groups and palliative nurses. The money raised will enable local hospice groups such as St. Francis Hospice to fund on-going facility enhancements, purchase crucial equipment and pay for frontline staff such as nurses and healthcare assistants to provide specialist care to patients and their families.
Speaking about the event Paycheck Plus COO Brona Grogan said “We are all very conscious that the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns created a perfect storm for many charitable organisations. The combination of reduced opportunities for fundraising events, along with the difficulties that the pandemic must have posed for Hospices – who care for some of the country’s most vulnerable patients – must have been particularly challenging. I am delighted that we have been able to help support them as they continue to provide care to those who need it most.”
